  • The second edition of the African Business & Social Responsibility Forum will be held from 26th to 27th February 2018 at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, Mauritius.  In this context, the Investment Office of the Economic Development Board will provide technical support and assistance in the organization of the event.

    The main purpose of this forum will be to address significant issues in reconciling innovation with sustainability aiming at:

    • Sharing best practices in the field of social responsibility from the Continent to inspire companies to adopt these “best practices”
    • Discussing and evaluate various financing opportunities to promote CSR activities
    • Stimulating SMEs and start-ups to become champions in CSR
    • Reward the most innovating African undertakings in the field of sustainable development

    The forum will be officially launched by Her Excellency, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, President of the Republic of Mauritius and see the participation of high-level speakers from several countries.

  • The Blue Penny Museum will be exhibiting works by Picasso from November 24 2018 to January 15 2019, which is a first in this part of the Indian Ocean. Emmanuel Richon, curator of the museum, explains that Mauritius is also one of the first African countries to exhibit the paintings of the artist who died in 1973.
    These are 45 works including engravings, drawings and ceramics that will be visible free to Mauritians, especially those who may never have the chance to visit museums abroad.
